aspen carlyle she only drinks coffee at midnight when the moment is not right outfit
Vampires didn't need to drink coffee. They didn't even have to eat normal food, but for Aspen eating and drinking was something she was just used to. After so many years of attempting to be inconspicuous she picked up habits that she hadn't really tried to break. One of these was eating, everyone knew vampires only needed to feed off of blood, it was the obvious. But for Aspen she realized that if she never ate anything people would start to notice. She didn't like the idea of people asking her why she never ate. An inquisition like that was an experience that she never wanted to go through.
The whole concept of sleeping was something that Aspen hadn't experienced since....1760. Wow, 1760, Aspen had been all over the United States and parts of Europe in those years. It was something that made her smile. She had been a witness to some of the greatest moments in history. She had been the wife of a southern democrat, during the Civil War, she had been part of the women's rights movements. All these things were important parts of history and to Aspen they meant very little. When you live forever what's the point of caring?
Anyways, it was one of those nights where Aspen was filled with restless energy. She didn't sleep ever, but most nights she found that she could calm herself down enough to watch movies or read a book. Not tonight though, Aspen couldn't keep her mind on any specific thing. She was antsy, but she didn't know why. Usually she had a reason to be antsy but tonight there wasn't one. She glanced at her watch and decided to get out of the campus, go to town. If she had been human this would probably be the time that she wanted coffee; but she wasn't human and coffee never did anything for her. There was something about the smell of Starbucks coffee that made her smile. It was a pleasant scent of all the aromas mixed together.
She left campus and walked at a somewhat decent pace towards the town. She wasn't ever really cold or hot, but she wore clothes that was appropriate for the season. It would be odd to be walking around in summer clothes now, people would possibly think she was a crack head. As she walked she decided that it would be bizarre if she was alone walking into Starbucks just to smell something. She did have a few dollars, so maybe buying coffee instead of awkwardly standing in there would be a good idea. As her mind kept wandering to different places she decided she'd call Addison. Addison was one of her best friends, well at least that's what Addison thought it was. Aspen never really liked the idea of limiting yourself to one person so she tried not to, but hanging out with Addison was always a lot of fun.
She picked up her phone and quickly hit the keys and then flipped it shut. Text messaging was probably the best thing since...well since America had won their independence. As she walked towards Starbucks she became calmer. It was liek just the thought of coffee was a sedative.

Times had changed since the last time she had been human. Coffee was not something someone had ever heard off. Eating was something addison was used to and needed, sleep was a neccessity. Especially since her mother used to call it her beauty sleep. Addison had always been in her own mind beautiful. she never thought down upon herself and most others. She had been sitting on a swing in the park. It was late and people probably thought she was crzy, but she just couldnt stand around all night in her dorm room. She had finished her homework, like it was even troubeling and was thinking back on all of the things she had witnessed in her existance since the day was bitten.
Marches, civil wars, womens right movement, she had traveled the world, at least twice. Had been married for a short while to a wealthy diplomat but of course out lived him. inheriting his money and moving on with her life. She had heard of this place on her travels, had heard of the school bringing the races together and was curious, besides what else was she going to do travel the world for a third time. That got boring alone. Besides though she was used to being alone in her existance she missed people of her race. speaking with people out of it. She had adapted to living off of animal blood though it was not as satisfying it kept her going. She had also learned to control her urge for human blood and now could interact with them like she was one of them. Which the often though.
Her phone in her pocket went off and she sighed gently, pulling it out and flipping it open she read the text and shrugged. sighing she tucked the phone back into her pocket after sending a quick text "b there in 1 min" she got off of the swing and stretched before smiling and taking off like the speed of light, she stopped in an ally near the starbucks she had been asked to meet at and emerged from it, not wanting to scare any humans or whoever else might be about she walked towards the door of the coffee place after smoothing her outfit and looking around for her friend.

Aspen had a pretty keen sense of smell, obviously it was better than any humans' sense of smell. A smile formed on her face when she picked up Addison's scent. She was probably around fifteen minutes away but smell was one of those heightened senses that most Vampires had. It wasn't long before she could see her friend approaching looking for her. To a human eye Addison would be a little too far off to see normally, but Aspen wasn't exactly human was she? If she had been she would be two hundred and fifty years overdue for a death. Aspen didn't sketchily lurk in the shadows but waited underneath a street lamp, jamming her hands into her pockets.
"Hey!" She said when Addison wasn't too far off. They had been very close friends for a few years, which was pretty normal for human standards. She walked over to her friend, moving out of the dark alley in order to see her friend better. Addison always knew how to dress well, in fact Aspen was in awe of her friend's fashion sense. Aspen hadn't really been too into fashion until the 1920s, that was when she really got into new trends. It wasn't exactly a recent time period but it felt like a year or two ago to Aspen. The years had begun to melt together into one big tangle of events.
In the blink of an eye she was at Addison's side. "I was bored, and neither of us sleep. I figured just going out somewhere would be fun." Maybe fun for Addison since she was a vegetarian but not so much for Aspen. Aspen wasn't a vegetarian vampire, she was trying it was true but sometimes it was hard. The hunt was something that enthralled Aspen after so many years. The vampire was always going after things that were off-limits, that was the type of person she was when she was human and that was the type of personality she still had. Aspen walked towards the Starbucks, trying to keep her pace even. The smell of coffee was making her calmer, but she was still antsy.

she had sighed once she had emerged from the shadows. her nose flared at all the different scents around her. Different races around her. She let her golden eyes drift from face to face as she searched for her friends, she could smell her there was no doubt about that, but putting a face to the smell was difficult in the crowd. then she heard her and smiled turning her golden pools to fix on her friends face. Aspen and her had been friends for a while. They didnt travel together, and they werent in a coven together they were just friends. Addison was a free range vampire for now.
She smiled at her friends cheery greeting and replied with her own, her vocals just as fluid as aspens " hey, no problem i was just bored passing the time, what do you have in mind to do?" it was true that even though addison was a vegetarian she didnt protest against the choice of food that others like aspen craved. she craved it just as much, but she had learned to put it off to the far part in her brain. She could live off of the animal blood. She hadnt touched human blood in quite some time and she knew that if she hunted she would be starting off at square one again and that was something she didnt want to go back to.
She took in aspens outfit and let a perfectly shaped and styled eyebrow rise, aspen had always had a good sense of style and addison often found herself wishing she had thought of some of her outfits. Though she had spent hundreds of years in riches and fashinable clothes, always in style. Being alive for eternity certainly had its perks when it came to the money making buisness and that helped when you needed to buy things to stay in style and in some cases in hiding. she let her eyes wander around them now searching for anything amusing to pass the time until most of the mortals were awake, waiting for her friends responce.
