Angel stared dubiously at the wrought Iron gates in front of her. She was nervous, and she couldn't stop clackig her black boots. She had on a pair of tight beige capris and a white tank top with a beige and white plaid coat over it. Her brown scarf tangled with her hair as it whipped around her face in a fluttering confusion. She smiled up at the place that was to be her new home, how exciting! The gleaming windows and shining sculptures were as intimidating as inspiring, and although Angel was nervous she was excited as well.

"Ivan," She turned addressing her butler and chauffeur, "are you coming in, because I can get in there myself, I'm seventeen." The butlers cheeks turned a pale shade of red. "Well, uh..." He stammered out awkwardly "Your mother told me I shoud go in, just to make sure everything's alright and such..." Angel let out an exasperated sigh, her mom was so clingy! "Please Ivan, for once I'd like to arrive without a guardian, maybe I can make some friends..." Her eyes widened and she looked up beggingly to her butler. "I suppose you could..." he murmered unhappily. Angel stood up on tippytoe giving Ivan a peck on the cheek. "Oh thank you, I promise not to tell mummy ok." She said happily before he could change his mind. Grabbing her suitcase she walked hurredly to the manicured lawns and college life that awaited her.

Her boots clicked on the cobblestiones, and she wheeled her two suitcases to the main desk. "Hi I'm Angel Marriana." She said shyly to the lady behind the desk. "Oh yes," The women cried screechingly, "Just have a seat over there hun." Angel slinked inconspicuous over to the waiting area, slipping into one of the leather chairs.

Melody slid her way past the crowd in the parking lot. She turned around and shooed her father away knowing that he was not going to move until she was inside. What a protective old man. She pulled her shoulder bag closer to her body and pushed her hair out of her face. A sigh just escaped though the females lips while walking up the stairs. This was her sophomore year in college and her first time ever stepping foot in Craver Hill Academy. She couldn't believe what was actually in this school. In terms of being human that is. Melody was a werewolf. You know the ones that look like dogs but are bigger and stronger then them. She found this out in his childhood years and actually experienced transforming and it was slightly cool. This school was made up of people just liked her and more. Like vampires, mutants and of course humans. She wasn't sure how they got into the picture but they were placed in this school also.

Melody was never a fan of humans since they were actually lucky to be human and not turn into anything unlike her. She sniffed around as usually and came across a scent of a nice smelling cute jock and a disgusting smell of a vampire. Hey she had to choice but to go to school with them. He shook her head and turned a corner looking for the office. She was told she had to get her schedule which meant she had to sit down and wait. Melody was somewhat happy to be in this school. It meant meeting new people and species which was cool. She wondered if she was able to actually act normal. Well it was possible. She wasn't a vampire. She could easily blend in with her surroundings. She was human but she had a little twist in her blood stream that would make go on all fours.

She walked into the office and into the waiting room after talking to the lady at the desk. She then took a seat next to a girl with long brown hair. She just easily had human all over her body. A smile just came across her lips and she turned her head. She stretched out her hand towards the girl. "I know this may be a little weird but hi im Melody. I don't usually do this but you seem to be the only one here who's maybe new like me" She said and stopped talking. Melody had a thing with talking alot when meeting new people.

Angel sat quietly admiring the neutral wallpaper around herself. A new girl rushed in, asking for her schedule and Angel wished she had worn more radical clothes, her's were too preppy compared to this girls. Angel turned around shocked as the girl actually spoke to her. Closing her gaping mouth abruptly, how rude, and tried to think of something cool and unobtrusive to say. Angel wanted a new start, and she was going to try her hardest to get one, no more shy little mama's girl.

"Nice to meet you Melody," Angel said with a nervous smile. "So your new here too? That's a relief, I was worried I'd be the only one." She let out a small chuckle and smoothed her jacket down, making sure it didn't crease. So far so good, she coulde be social if she really tried!

"So. um, what classes are you taking? I have the basics, and then I'm in IT dance, and singing. I heard that this is a really good school." She trailed off to herself hoping she hadn't said to much. Angel looked down at her boots, shuffling them on the floor trying to keep from an awkward silence, she couldn't handle that.

She studied the girls features, she was cery pretty with a cute face, and her clothes looked fairly expensive. She supposed that they could be friends, though she wasn't really sure. It was so knew to herself making friends, how did people do it?

Alexz's eyes gazed upon the stairs leading up to the academy and the butterflies began caressing her insides almost intimately. Suddenly this didn't seem like such a good idea the streets looked more inviting so she backed off her worn red backpack swung back over her left shoulder. As she sat a few feet away she observed a young woman, possibly actually more likely than not younger than her walking in. If they could do it so could she.

The blond slowly made her way up the stairs hand grazing the rail so light it tickled the tips of her fingers. She knew if she gripped it, she would have the time to change her mind. That wasn't an option she had no where else to go. Now her mind was made up as she pushed through the entry way admiring the look of the lobby for lack of a better word.

Dark eyes focused on the other two women in the room, compared to them she felt inadequate. They seemed to have nice things and deserved to be here. Despite her inner thoughts she pressed forward toward the administrators desk. Time to make this decision final. Her voice was soft but firm at the same time as she approached.

"Alexzandra Martin" She offered up but nothing else before she was dismissed to take a seat off to the side. Her feet made their way passed the other two she looked at them and nearly stopped. Nearly but she wouldn't allow herself to stop not yet. She would watch them for a while before making an informed decision on how and when to approach. Besides people watching was one of her favorite hobbies.

She took a seat a chairs down and crossed her legs daintily. It was one of those insane habits forced upon her from living in the system for majority of her childhood. Mentally she cursed herself as her eyes again filtered toward the other two young women. Her mind began formulating questions 'Were they more educated than she was?' 'Did they have normal family's?' Questions she could only feasibly answer by talking to them. Again she cursed herself. Normally she would wonder things she could answer just by observing. Things about attitude, hygiene and who they would typically associate with. Yet she couldn't bring herself to care about any of those things.

Maybe this place was already changing her. She offered them a light smile when one caught her eye. Yes this place might actually work.

Melody just let out a sigh of relief that the girl was actually talking to her. A smile just appeared on her lips as she greeted herself. "Hey. not everybody has to be alone for every little thing. im kind of lucky myself." This was starting to be cool. Mel's first interaction with a girl on her first day of school and luckly they were both new which meant they could both wonder the school together. Melody had no idea why she was thinking so optimistic right about now. Melody tilted her head at the question and made a pout. That was a very good question then she just smiled and looked at the girl. "Well im into acting and singing myself. I heard they had a great teacher for that kind of thing here." Melody then giggled as the girl just shuffled her feet.

She never really seen a girl so nervous before. She then took the time to look her over. She was very pretty and looked a bit older then her even though this was her first time here. Melody's head then turned instantly as a scent filled the room. She watched as another female made her way though the door and towards them. "Melody Andrews." She said with a smile towards the girl. She then sat back into her seat and just let the silence take over the room. All she heard was constant computer typing and the scent of every human and vampired in the room. This was slightly getting to her.

She then held in her breath and just looked around. She looked at the girl whos name was Alexzandra and just smiled back at her. She then sat at the edge of the seat and just looked at both of the girls. "Well this might be a weird personal question but what are you guys." She bit down on her lip and started to talk again. "Well it's quite obvious right. Not everybody around here is human. I find it quite strange that humans, vampires, mutants and werewolfs and be in one building." She said looking down at the ground. She then sat back once again and just continued looking at the ground letting out a long sigh.

Alexz's ears perked up when one of the other girls, Melody if she'd heard correctly, asked about their origin. What was she? She had thought she was a plain old human until her powers had developed then the word freak came to mind. Though in a school full of supernatural beings, being able to move things with her mind may not be so freak like. Her blond head tilted in thought as the smile faded from her face.

"I don't really know what I am, unless you count a freak," She answered looking up at Melody. To offer anything else with out being prompted didn't seem like something to do at least not yet.

"What are you?" Alexz countered actually interested. Friendly people in her experience usually turned ugly when she offered anything personal.

Briefly the thoughts of being back in grade school with all human peers came into mind. Along with all the teasing for her ratty hand me down clothing that looked like they'd been put through the ringer or picked up for free from the salvation army. New things were not a luxury for kids in the system or maybe just not for her.

The butterflies were back with a vengeance and this time they weren't so much caressing as creating a tornado in her stomach. She stared at the floor for a moment to try and stay the nausea before her last meal made a second appearance in reverse. It seemed to work at least until she lifted her head and needed to swallow the bile that collected in her mouth.

<<Angel doesn't know about werewolfs and whatnot so you guys get the fun job of explaining that to her :P>>

Angel smiled happily as the girl responded positively to herself. This was a good start she acknowledged inside her head. A new girl arrived, and if she felt nervous this girl looked twice as nervous and she felt slightly better. Melodybegan talking to her instantly and she was glad that she didn't have to make the introductions. "Hi, I'm Angel Marriana." She gave the girl a quick smile, hoping to make her feel more comfortable. It was a shame that the three of them were so nervous, but at least Melody seemed comfortable with introductions.

Angel puzzled at Melody's question. What was she? She was human of course wasn't everyone? "What do you mean Melody, I'm human of course, aren't you guys, or wait let me guess aliens." She laughed tensely hoping to cover her worry, was this girl crazy? Angel studied herfingers nervously hoping to cover her shock, maybe this was a joke. Her mouth opened into a perfect O as she listened to Alexzandra's response. It must be a joke, there was no other explanation, was there?

"What are you guys talking about? How can you be a freak, I mean everyones different, theres no normal." She said hoping to console the girl. She knew how hard being different could be, and she didn't want this girl to feel bad, just because she liked different things or something.

As Angel spoke Alexz realized she'd yet to formally introduce herself. A slight blush shone on her slightly pale face.
"I'm Alexzandra Martin, call me Alexz please," She spoke slightly more confidently.

"As for the freak, I grew up in the system... its what kids called me since I can remember oh and I've got what's called Telekinesis I think..." Alexz explained not able to stop the words from coming out of her mouth.

"Didn't you read the brochure of this place before you signed up Angel?" She asked confused about the alien comment. "This is a school for the supernaturally gifted, you know vampires... werewolves.. you name it its probably here."

Alexz couldn't help but find it funny that someone would apply to a school with out actually getting an idea on the type of students it best caters to. Angel would certainly be in for a surprise. And now it hit her as she turned to Melody. The girl hadn't yet told them what race she was. Could they be in the presence of a Vampire or Werewolf? The idea excited her.

She pulled her backpack round her front and unzipped the biggest pocket. She pulled out a small box of snack cakes she'd gotten on her way to the school. "You guys hungry?" She asked offering out two of them.

Keeping the box of cakes out on her lap she re zipped up the backpack and pushed it back onto her back. Her whole life was in that pack the good and the bad. There was no way she was going to let the thing off of her back for too long.
